DCC 2007 and Fainting Goats

We were (for the most part) just at this, but just in case doubt arises in the future about how awesome DCC 2007 was, I am writing this as a record to confirm that it was both very fun and very satisfying to be a part of and it made yesterday one of the best days in recent memory. I don't want to get carried away, but it was truly great.

I won't catalogue everything that took place here, but some highlights included:
- Delicious and healthy food courtesy of Taya, Silvia, and also the Tessa at the Urban Grind.
- An oustanding and informative key note address (note to self: we watched 28 days later last night and I (a) am much happier when laying down with others and talking / laughing (b) had scary nightmarish rage-filled-zombie based images in my mind until 6:30am this morning (c) liked the movie more because I learned of how zombie's were used before and knew we were in a zombie film renaissance--excellent cinemotagraphy, good acting, I liked the plot choices (d) despite possible ulcer, it was worth it).
- Excellent mini-presentations and excellent use of videoconferencing; dance party over ichat is funny.
- My presentation / impromptu speech were a little manic, but I felt good enough about both of them and should try and do that again, even better next time--impromptu speaking can become a new thing we all do, possibly.
- I really, really enjoyed all the dorkatholon challenges and both teams won.

I also need to remember this: Fainting Goats Exist and are so funny (see top of post).

Cool, thanks so much guys. Heartened. And yes, zombies have been all the rage since your presentation. Sheila and the guy she's dating, Chris, may have watched a zombie movie last night. And our friend Stefan, without prompting, said that he felt like a zombie after spending 3 1/2 hours at Ikea.
